swim, bike, run, save lives & cure cancer!
Our soon to be 5 year old nephew Geddy was diagnosed with Leukemia on April 1, 2013 of all days. Little G-man is in an intense fight to save his life - undergoing some very intense chemotherapy. Needless to say, it's been a rough several months for Geddy and his family. Janine and I are committed to raising $20,000 to help with the fight against Leukemia. I will be dedicating my race at Ironman Hawaii in October to Geddy. Janine and I will also be joining Team in Training for the Lavaman Triathlon in March of 2014 to race and fundraise in Geddy's honor.
Janine and I know that we are going to have to get creative in order to raise $20,000. To begin with, we are going to give away 7 pair of running shoes with drawings on the following days: Sept 1, Oct 12, Nov 15, Dec 15, Jan 15, Feb 15, and Mar 30.
$25 Donation will get you 1 entry to the Oct 12th drawing (which happens to coincide with Ironman Hawaii!)
$50 Donation will get you 1 entry into each of the 7 drawings.
$100 Donation will get you 3 entries into each of the 7 drawings. That's 21 chances to win a free pair of running shoes!
Thank you for ANY donation you can afford to make; every dollar counts!
Every ten minutes, another child or adult is expected to die from leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma. This statistic represents nearly 145 people each day, or six people every hour.
That's why I'm participating in this event --to help The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society beat cancer! Make a donation to help fight blood cancers!
